obsessions

Jonas bag

I regret this post is nothing wonderful since I've been feeling ill. So far in 2010 I've cleaned my room, packing away boxes of things I won't need until I move to Nashville. And today I worked at the Cardinals vs. Packers football game; promoting upcoming events and games at the arena, and that sort of thing.

Lately I've been obsessed with two things: Nick Jonas & the Administration and the Cardinals. Nothing special, but there it is. You do have to excuse me and my 10-year-old obsession with the JoBros. I'm afraid I shall love them forever and ever. That aside, I'm hoping to post lovely things once my head stops feeling so fuzzy. ★

Q: What are you obsessed with these days?

P.S. I just love the entire concept of this video.

I truly love this

I love these SNL skits. The last time I watched these videos multiple times, I woke up with the song, "I got struck by lightning" stuck in my head. Sad? I think so.

M.E.N.

3/365

It never ceases to amaze me how just one song can provoke so much emotion. The nights where I can't sleep, I've decided to relax by listening to some tunes as my mind becomes a jumbled mess- mindless, wandering thoughts combined with song equals mixed up emotions where I sit pondering, really, anything. But it's a beautiful experience, in my own mind at least. Which is exactly why I am in love with M.E.N. (Musical Exploration Night), hosted by members of the JB Band via Twitter. John Taylor, Greg Garbo, Rob Hoffman, Ryan Liestman, Jack Lawless and I don't even know who all else provide followers with a playlist of the songs they listen to while on their tour bus, allowing anyone to listen to whatever they are listening to at that moment. Most of the music I've never heard before which is the beauty of M.E.N. because the songs are good with a mixture of punk, r&b, bluegrass, jazz, ska and anything you can imagine. As Rob Hoffman would say they are constantly "breaking cultural boundaries." I missed tonight's M.E.N. and went back and played short clips of each song, but it's just not the same when you aren't listening along with them. So, instead, I've decided to come up with my own personal playlist for tonight. Here I go...

1. Drive- R.E.M. 2. Bright Side- The Soft Pack 3. Eastern Glow- The Album Leaf 4. Heat of the Night- Bryan Adams 5. Maybe I'm Amazed- JEM 6. Forever Young- Youth Group 7. November Rain- Guns N Roses 8. I Will Follow- U2 9. Don't Look Back- Boston 10. Betterman- Pearl Jam 11. Don't Look Back in Anger- Oasis 12. In My Place- Coldplay 13. Better Days- Goo Goo Dolls 14. Mary Jane's Last Dance- Tom Petty 15. Stairway to Heaven- Led Zepplin 16. With or Without You- U2 17. If I Had Eyes- Jack Johnson 18. Dreaming With A Broken Heart- John Mayer 19. Chasing Cars- Snow Patrol 20. Where Are You Going- Dave Matthews Band

Best. Summer. Ever.

Nick & Joe

It's official. This has been the best summer of my life. I told myself that my 20s were going to rock and I want to make sure that they do. I think I'm off to a good start. Here's why:

1. I spent nearly a month in Europe. Dublin, Paris and London. To list all that I saw and learned and experienced would take me forever. Let's just say I was a foreign correspondent. I saw the Queen of England. I saw Prince Harry and Prince William. I saw Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower at night. I hung out in a pub which, let's be real, was a foreign experience for me and I loved it. I ate the most delicious food on planet Earth. And, all in all, had the time of my life.

2. No summer would be complete without the tradition of going to my grandparents cabin for Fourth of July weekend.

3. I spent nearly two weeks in Tennessee, my favorite place on Earth. Enough said.

4. And the reason why I'm currently excited: I went to the Jonas Brothers concert last night with one of my best friends Gwenie. And, let me tell you, it was amazing. I danced, badly I might add. I sang along to every song at the top of my lungs. I even made eye contact with Joe. Okay, okay enough already right? Three months ago I used to make fun of my college friends for liking them. Now I love them (read reasons why). Perhaps it's me trying to escape back to my childhood, or lack of certain childhood experiences: i.e., never going to any concerts. (I was never really into N'Sync or Backstreet Boys.) So maybe I started the 'boy band' obsession a little late? But I think the real reason is I can't stop being happy while listening to their music. It's just... fun. Right now, in this world (and at home), there's just a lot of crap. Stressful, unfun crap (for lack of a better word). And when I listen to the Jonas Brothers I can be my silly self by dancing and singing at the top of my lungs. I've even got my parents liking their music. Yesterday I stood in the heat to watch Kevin, Nick and Joe play kickball and I went to their concert. Floor seats. Row 16. Seat One. Right by the stage. I drove home listening and dancing to their music with Gwenie, ears ringing and sounding like I was high on helium. 24 hours later and my ears continue to ring, as if the thousands of fans were screaming in my ears. But guess what? It was so worth it.

Lazy Summer Days

Jonas Brothers Moleskine
Today has been my laziest day of the summer. I woke up at one, which let me tell you, rarely ever happens. And what have I been doing all day? I have been lying in bed while listening to Jonas Brothers and creating Moleskine pages on Photoshop Macbook Pages. It's quite fun.

Review: Jonas Brothers

At what age do we outgrow the Disney Channel? Some would think it sad for a twenty year old to tune into Hannah Montana and JONAS every now and then. In fact, I thought it a bit pathetic up until two weeks ago. For one thing I never understood the Jonas Brothers obsession. But that has all changed. A few weeks ago I watched the premiere episode of their new show on the Disney Channel. Twenty-four hours hours later I found myself purchasing S.O.S. and When You Look Me In The Eyes from iTunes. And I've now watched all four episodes of the show JONAS. I've additionally purchased their songs A Little Bit Longer and Paranoid, and am eagerly awaiting the release of their third album. I've even become a 'fan' on Facebook, just to seal the deal. At twenty years old, I've become obsessed with today's most popular boy band. And I've now compiled a list of ten reasons why I love the Jonas Brothers.

1. They are Christians and wear purity rings, which I believe is a positive message in today's society. They also don't smoke, drink or do drugs.

2. They take the time out of their busy schedule to brighten one child's day. Example: Jonas Brothers visit 9-year-old suffering from Leukemia.

3. They have brown, curly hair. Call me biased, but brown, curly hair rocks.

4. They are always dressed extremely well.

5. I just love Nick & Joe's voice.

6. They aren't stuck up and act "real", if that makes any sense.

7. In every Youtube video that I've watched, they are constantly thanking their fans and it's a genuine thank you.

8. They stay connected with their fans. Whether it's their live videos on Facebook, Youtube videos or their phone messages on Myspace.

9. Each brother is different, but all three have a great sense of humor. They make me laugh. Here are a few examples: Ellen DeGeneres Show, SNL (more SNL), Jay Leno, Cherub Bootcamp and Chat Moments.

10. You don't have to worry about them "breaking up" because, well, they're brothers.
