I want a tattoo. Or at least I think I do. I've gone back and forth about the idea. Mom says not to get one where it's visible because it could cost me a job in the future. A friend says it's a sin. Grandpa, who has a tattoo, says I'll regret it. Dad says it's a bad idea. But I still want one.

I have a few ideas of what I'd want. I'd want it on my wrist, foot or upper back. I've wanted a small, black cross on my wrist for the longest time now. Mom insists it's a bad idea because it would be visible. I've pointed out how a watch or bracelets could cover it up, but I don't know. I do prefer it not to be visible. I'd want it to be music-related or a passage from the Bible or a cross. Something like "this too shall pass," even though it's a common tattoo. Possibly something Disney-related. I like some white tattoos, but not the ones that look like you cut the design into your skin. Brother says white tattoos are silly. {He has about seven tattoos or so.}

All images were found on Tumblr.

Anyway, the first photo is my favorite. What are your thoughts on tattoos? ★

  1. I am quite sure I would like a tattoo. I too have always liked the idea of one on my wrist, jsut a tiny little one, or then I also rather like ones on the back of the neck, like a teeny star

  3. those tattoo pictures are lovely. i adore text tattoos, especially when the quote or saying means a lot to the wearer.

  4. I love little tatoos on the back or the neck. For me, the smallest they are, the better. If I had a tatoo I'd have it because that picture means seomething to me and I wounldn't need everyone to see it.
But anyway, I don't thing I would ever have a tatoo. Have you ever read something you wrote when you were younger and thought... Oh my good, I was so silly? Well, I think that could easily happen to me If I had a tatoo.
Anyway, That's only my opinion. If you like them, you should get one :)

  6. I've been thinking about getting a tattoo as well. I think as long as it has real meaning to you and you are careful about where you put it, you won't end up regretting it. I love the white tattoo of the bird as well as the treble clef. :D The tattoo I'm thinking of getting is something to do with literature since I'm such a bookworm.

  10. I think I'd like one too, although I doubt I would ever get one. But I like the idea of a white tattoo. I love the bird tattoo. A white tattoo is cool cause if you tan it'd show up more, but it's easier to hide.

  11. I found your blog today.

I feel like we'd be friends.

I'm going to get a tattoo on my foot in pink ink. I don't know what it will be yet...maybe just one word, maybe a symbol.

  12. I love the first one " Music is love" on her back. I think words look lovelier than patterns for tattoos.

  15. I have been thinking of getting inked for quite some time. I also want it to be not visible, kinda like my secret type of thing, but I haven't got the least bit of idea what I want for a tattoo. Thanks for the inspiration!

  16. I have always thought that I would get one on the inside of my upper arm, so I could easily see it myself and show it to people, but so it wouldn't hamper my employment prospects..
my friend posted this on her tumblr, I think it is quite nice: http://swayingskirts.tumblr.com/post/572846709/via-obliteratedheart
she herself has a tattoo that goes from the side of her thumb to her arm, just short lines that she used to draw on in pen anyway. it's simple and quite nice -) I always thought I might get an owl, but trees are also very lovely

  17. these are so lovely!
i love love tattoos...and have 6, and am adding more.
maybe i'll do a post on my tattoos someday soon. my advice for not regretting them is to go to your artist and get a sketch made up and post it beside your bed. if you can live with it everyday for a year, the chances of you still loving it down the road are pretty good. that's my tried and true method. also, don't just copy something you see in a photo! tattoos are really personal to the people that have them and i would be PISSED if someone were walking around with a carbon copy of mine. besides, having a design that is uniquely you is part of the fun!

  19. Hello Krissie how are you?

We used to stigmatize tattoo with something naughty but I feel the one that you are longing is the different one. The photos you have been putting there look so delicate instead, and white tattoos! What a queer thing!

It looks like having a lace attached to your body don't you think?:)

Perhaps if you would like one you would want to put it in the unexposed body part... but it's up to you;)

I don't want a tattoo because I don't think I am so daring... you must be a very courageous to express yourself:)

  20. They all are pretty darn gorgeous. I can understand not wanting to get an extremely visible one though. And yeah, it definitely requires a lot of thought when it's something so... yknow, permanent! If I were to get one I'd make sure that it would be small and something that I wouldn't get sick of throughout my life.

  21. I had my tattoo when i was 18. My father went to the studio with me and he took photos of me doing it, because he knew it was special to me. I love my tattoo and i don't regret at all. It must be very carefully chosen, either the design and the place to get it, but when you do it, and you are tottaly sure, you'll see that it's a new part of you and your story. It becomes a sign of your perdonality*good luck
