Typing out loud

I have lived in the same country, same state, same city, same house my entire life. I have dreamed of traveling to distant lands, being an eye-witness to other cultures. I expected people to act different, to look different, to speak different. And while that may be true in many cases, what I have learned is that people are just that, people. They still experience the same emotions as anyone else. News flash, crying is the same in every language. I have spent the past few weeks watching the people around me, and while they may live in a foreign country, they aren’t so foreign. At this moment there are 6,787,025,159 people in the world, each created by the same magnificent God. Each has a story. Each has been hurt in some way. And, really, we're all just trying to make it through the day. It reminds me of a quote from One Tree Hill: At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just not facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world, six billion souls. And sometimes... all you need is one.
